Community - building events with board games

Playing board games brings people together, so it’s a perfect fit for any kind of team building, be it in a corporate environment, for a group of friends or in a community such as in a retirement home. I’m more than happy to organize and lead this sort of events as well.
As a positive side effect of the self-discovery board game events, I have noticed that regular participants have formed a cohesive and growing hard core. They greet each other more and more warmly at the beginning of the event, stay for more games and conversation at the end, and keep in touch outside of the events I organise. Friendships and even intimate relationships have been formed among them.
While playing board games, they have made shared experiences and got to know each other better, which has brought them closer to each other. This is exactly the focus of the community-building events I organise. I choose games, such as conversational or cooperative types, that specifically promote bonding. Participants are also welcome to reflect consciously on any changes they have experienced throughout or thanks to the game. By becoming aware of these takeaways, they can take steps towards each other and thus towards team cohesion in their everyday lives as well.

In a company environment, a more cohesive team can also perform better at work. If team members are closer together and listen to each other better, they may be better able to help each other out at work. Those who have practised working together in cooperative games may also be able to work more effectively towards a common goal in the office. And if participants enjoy each other’s company while having fun in a meaningful way, they can also improve their relationships outside the game. This is already an achievement in itself, be it among a group of friends, residents of a retirement home or team members at a workplace. Moreover, in the latter case, getting on better with each other can also help improve performance at work. In addition, I choose games specifically for each event considering the needs of the community in question. I am also happy to create a series of community building events tailored to the team. This can further enhance the positive effects detailed above.

This event connects the two passions of my life: self-discovery and board games.

Tímea (Gyöngyös)

The last time, I've been coming to every single occasion. I've developed an addiction to playing board games for self-discovery.

László (Budapest)

Playfulness is a good approach to self-discovery so it surely doesn't end up in bashing ourselves.
